Some might wonder what the saying “90% of everything is crap.” is all about. Well, it is Sturgeon’s Law. He was fed up with people regarding science fiction literature as inferior, i.e. as “crap” (which, admittedly, it is in most cases).

But then he realised that in many other areas, too, the majority of publications were no good and had to be counted as rubbish. Strictly speaking, many things in daily life could be categorised as rubbish: Hair fashion,  social media, self-optimisation mania, public transport, and of course a great deal in our beloved magic.

For this reason, I have given the blog this subtitle. So that I am reminded daily that an astounding amount of what is fabricated by humans is simply “crap”.
