End of Scripting Problems decova, 22 January 2016 In the past weeks I struggled to upgrade my computers with a very important software. I decided from now on to give it a try and get used to the Dragon dictation system software. At first I thought this is going to be easy, but it was not. After some experimentation and training with the software, I am now absolutely perplexed and astounded how well this works. I remember the nasty times 10 years ago, when I wanted to try this out, but at that time the software wasn’t ready. Now it is! Besides all the advantages of being able to work more efficient and much quicker with the computer, I discovered something very surprising (at least for me). For years my problem in scripting a trick or routine and writing the patter for it was, that when I wrote it in the traditional way out of my head, the pattern looked good on paper, but is sounded stiff in performance. So the only solution was to dictate the pattern into an audio equipment and then have it transcriptd. Now when using speech recognition software, everything is completely different and so much easier. I don’t needs any secretary to type my audiophile us, I can do it with my own laptop and anytime and anywhere I want to do it. Of course, I first have to make my decision of what I want to say. But then, when I’m in the flow, the words just come out in a natural speaking manner and this is exactly the way they are printed. No longer any stiff expressions and constructions of sentences. Thanks to that great technology, writing good scripts is now in the reach of almost everyone. agenda-en

Spring Flowers Reloaded 12 June 2017 Spring flowers have been a topic in magic for more than 100 years. Ever since Buatier de Kolta invented them, they have been a fixed component in magician’s repertoires. It is sad that the flowers available from dealers look just outright crappy and cheap. One source I know of which… Read More
The Blank Book Test 8 January 2024 As a magician, I’m usually reluctant to reveal the secrets of my craft to fellow conjurers, preferring to keep these mysteries close to my chest. However, given my promise to you, I’ll make an exception this time. While I have a general fondness and respect for wizards, I must admit,… Read More
