Every trick, even if it seems to work by itself, has to be prac­tised (just like moves and tech­niques), because the routine also has to be prac­tised. The other thing is present­a­tion. You should write a script and learn it by heart. Then you prac­tise the present­a­tion with the flow. As you can see, this has noth­ing to do with self-working—every trick, no mat­ter how simple, has to be care­fully practised!
