End of Script­ing Problems

In the past weeks I struggled to upgrade my com­puters with a very import­ant soft­ware. I decided from now on to give it a try and get used to the Dragon dic­ta­tion sys­tem soft­ware. At first I thought this is going to be easy, but it was not. After some exper­i­ment­a­tion and train­ing with the soft­ware, I am now abso­lutely per­plexed and astoun­ded how well this works. I remem­ber the nasty times 10 years ago, when I wanted to try this out, but at that time the soft­ware was­n’t ready. Now it is!

Besides all the advant­ages of being able to work more effi­cient and much quick­er with the com­puter, I dis­covered some­thing very sur­pris­ing (at least for me). For years my prob­lem in script­ing a trick or routine and writ­ing the pat­ter for it was, that when I wrote it in the tra­di­tion­al way out of my head, the pat­tern looked good on paper, but is soun­ded stiff in per­form­ance. So the only solu­tion was to dic­tate the pat­tern into an audio equip­ment and then have it transcriptd.

Now when using speech recog­ni­tion soft­ware, everything is com­pletely dif­fer­ent and so much easi­er. I don’t needs any sec­ret­ary to type my audi­o­phile us, I can do it with my own laptop and any­time and any­where I want to do it. Of course, I first have to make my decision of what I want to say. But then, when I’m in the flow, the words just come out in a nat­ur­al speak­ing man­ner and this is exactly the way they are printed.

No longer any stiff expres­sions and con­struc­tions of sen­tences. Thanks to that great tech­no­logy, writ­ing good scripts is now in the reach of almost everyone.
