It is sometimes difficult for English speakers to pronounce Italian or Spanish names correctly (as it is for us Germans!). Recently I was doing some research and had to go through some of Roberto’s publications. Often I heard his name mispronounced in the introductions. This may help.
The name Roberto Giobbi is pronounced correctly if you just think of the word “jobby” (and pronounce it that way). If you go to https://tophonetics.com/ and type in “jobby” and then click the play button, you will hear Roberto’s name correctly.
No extra ‘i’ after the g. Just Jobby. It is easy to remember because Roberto is the one who does the job, and he always has lots of jobs to do, so he is “jobby”.
