A script is essential for every magician. You know how the trick works. But what do you say while performing it? When do you pause? And which action belongs to which line?

That’s exactly why I developed SOLIDMAGIC Script: a screenplay software designed specifically for magicians and optimized for their needs, allowing you to write down your routines and work on your performance in a targeted way.

During rehearsals, your speech and actions must align. In the Cornell column, your stage directions appear right next to the spoken text. This way, you can see at a glance when to show something, pick it up, put it down, or take a pause. Even longer instructions fit neatly; German hyphenation keeps the column clear.

Structure your routine into scenes, rearrange their order, and highlight key moments with colored text markers. Sticky notes keep small reminders right where you need them. For additional thoughts and observations during rehearsals, there’s a dedicated notes column.

From first draft to rehearsal-ready script

  • Speech, stage directions, and actions in one script
  • Scene overview with draggable scenes
  • Title page and prop list
  • Colored text markers, sticky notes, and separate rehearsal notes
  • Live print preview next to the editor
  • Print and save as PDF, in A4 or US Letter format
  • Save routines as JSON, Fountain, or TXT and reopen them
  • User guide, character overview, and sample routine included in the app

You’ll receive the software as a ZIP file. Unzip it and open the included index.html in your desktop browser. No installation, no subscription. The download version works offline and saves your texts locally.

You’ll also get your personal access to script.solidmagic.org, where you can use the app online and download the latest version. Check for updates directly in the app with “Check for Updates.”

Interface, help, and sample routine are available in six languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese. Any texts you write yourself will not be translated when switching languages.

For desktop and notebook computers with a keyboard and a browser with JavaScript enabled. Tested in Google Chrome on macOS. The app does not require an internet connection for offline use; internet access is only needed for online use and update checks.

Regularly save your routines as JSON files, especially before an update or when switching between the local file and the online app. The automatic browser storage does not replace your own backup. For special characters, please check the print output.

You may use the software for your own routines and shows, including paid performances. Your texts remain your property. Sharing the software or your personal access, as well as copying for distribution, is not permitted. Your own working and backup copies, as well as mandatory legal rights, remain unaffected.
